Description
Jalapeno Restaurant is a former warehouse that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is constructed of squared stone rubble, featuring quoins, window-jambs, and arches made of dressed stone, with some red brick present in the side walls. The roof, which is not easily visible from the street, appears to be covered with corrugated asbestos. The building has three storeys and a two-window range. The ground floor was altered in the 20th century to create a central entrance for the restaurant, with a window to the left and a fire door to the right. The original layout likely included a wide opening with a wooden lintel. The upper storeys feature wide windows with raised keystones, while the third-storey windows are approximately half the height of those below. The upper windows have 20th-century casements with imitation leaded lights. The interior was only inspected on the ground floor, which does not contain any features of special interest.
