9/180 2 ranges of linhays forming the - west and south sides of the farmyard east of Ford Barton GV II
2 ranges of linhays. Late C19 and part of the planned farmyard at Ford Barton. Stone rubble with slate roofs. Plan: 2 adjoining ranges, L plan. The west range faces the threshing barn (qv), the rear wall backing on to the higher yard. The south range faces south into the lower yard and also backs on to the higher yard with a covered walkway to the rear. Exterior: The west range is a large 9-bay lofted linhay, the right hand bay enclosed, the other bays open with stout timber posts dividing each bay. To the left there is an entrance through the linhay into the higher yard, there is an entrance to the covered walkway behind the south range in the right hand bay. The south range has been built on to in the centre but has 4 bays to the left of this C20 addition, 5 bays to the right. These ranges with the range adjoining the parish hall (qv) form 3 sides of a large planned farmyard which formerly had a central dunghouse. The interior of the higher yard, which they enclose, is rather altered and includes a C20 open-sided structure built against the rear wall of the west range. Group value with the parish hall range, the threshing barn and Ford House and Barton House.
