Description

LAPFORD SS 70 NW 4/69 Milestone at SS 719 093 - - II

Milestone. Late C18-early C19. Granite. Upright block half buried and standing approx 0.5m high. Flat-topped and triangular in plan the front faces are canted forward and inscribed with Roman serif capitals: TO EXON to left and TO BARUM on right. The mileage is now buried, presumably XVIII miles to left and XXII miles to right.
