Description

Two shops with living accommodation above, likely dating from the late 18th century with mid-19th century shop fronts. The building is constructed of painted Flemish bond brick, with a slate roof and a brick chimney stack. It has three storeys and a symmetrical three-bay facade, with a central cartway between the shop fronts. The cartway has a segmental brick arch containing plank doors with strap hinges. The first floor has three original 16-pane sash windows, although the central and right-hand windows have been re-glazed with four panes within the original window frames. The second floor retains three original four-over-eight pane sash windows. Both shop fronts are largely complete, featuring pilasters with recessed panels, fascia boards that curve inwards at the ends, and a dentil cornice above. The shops have recessed glazed doors with a single low panel and an overlight, with No. 108 retaining lozenge panes in its overlight. Alongside the doors are three-light transomed shop windows with chamfered frames and moulded mullions; the transoms have been removed from No. 107. The interior has not been inspected, but may contain features of interest.
