Description

A terrace of four houses built around the 1760s, with later alterations. The houses are constructed of Flemish bond brick, with numbers 1 and 3 painted and number 2 roughcast; they have slate roofs and stacks with rendered shafts. The terrace is situated just off Bridge Street and faces the River Loman.

The houses are two storeys high and have a front elevation of 2:2:1:3 bays. Number 1 features a timber doorcase to the left with pilasters having sunk panels and a pediment supported by brackets; it has a four-panel door with the upper panels fielded and the lower panels flush. Number 2 has a four-panel door to the right, with fielded upper panels and flush lower panels, and a porch hood with decorative brackets. A tripartite sash window to the left of number 2 has 6 over 6 panes in the centre light and 2 over two panes in the outer lights. Two first-floor windows have 12 panes each. Number 3 has a six-panel front door with glazed upper panels and a four-pane overlight, alongside a shallow porch hood on brackets. It has one ground-floor window with an 8 over 8-pane sash, and one first-floor window with a 6 over 6-pane sash. Number 4 is double-fronted with a central four-panel front door and an overlight, set within a doorcase with panelled reveals. The ground and outer first-floor windows are 6 over 6-pane boxed sashes, with a modern casement window above the front door.

The interiors were not inspected but may contain features of interest. Number 1 was reported to be in a poor state of repair at the time of inspection.
