Description

Three shops with living accommodation above, likely dating from the early 18th century, with shop fronts updated in the mid-to-late 19th century. The building is constructed with a mass wall technique, featuring smooth plaster on the exterior and a slate roof with gable ends. A rear stack rises from the ridge, incorporating a brick shaft and four decorative yellow pots.

The building fronts onto Angel Hill and the rear faces a courtyard containing former agricultural and storage buildings. Number 17, the building on the left, has two rooms in depth, with a stair cell situated between the front and rear rooms.

The exterior presents an asymmetrical three-storey facade with a two-bay, one-bay, one-bay window arrangement. A passageway provides access to the rear courtyard between numbers 17 and 15. The shop fronts appear to be consistent along the entire frontage, incorporating timber pilasters, a fascia, and a deep projecting cornice. Number 17 features a doorway to the right with a glazed shop door, a small panel, and an overlight, alongside a three-pane shop window with moulded glazing bars. Number 15 has a two-light shop window with similar moulded glazing bars, and a 20th-century small-pane shop door with an overlight to the left. Number 13 has a one-light shop window which is canted into a doorway on the left.

The interior of number 17 has been partly inspected and contains a plain stair. The owner reports the presence of windows with leaded panes, which are now internally located.
