Description

This is a house, likely dating from the late 18th century, now used as a restaurant with accommodation above. It probably has a timber-frame construction hidden behind a rendered exterior, with a slate roof and brick chimney shafts. The building has a U-shaped plan, including two gable-ended service wings at the rear.

The front of the house has three storeys and three windows. A pilastered doorcase on the right side features sunk panels, a cornice, and a recessed four-panel door. The upper panels of the door are fielded, while the lower panels are flush. A fanlight above the door has spoke glazing bars and decorative cast or carved motifs. A shop front on the left side mirrors the doorcase with pilasters and sunk panels below the sills of the canted shop windows. The first-floor windows are boxed 12-pane sashes, and the second-floor windows are 3-over-6-pane sashes.

The interior of the building was not inspected during the listing process.
