Description
35-41 Church Street is a terrace of four houses built in the 1860s by Caroline Brewin, who was the daughter of John Heathcote and married to Heathcote's business partner, Ambrose Brewin. The houses are constructed of yellow brick in Flemish bond with brick ridge stacks and natural slate roofs.
The exterior features a double-depth plan, with the north end recessed and rounded, connecting to Nos 4-18 St Paul Street. The terrace is two storeys high with an attic and has nine windows. There are gauged brick flat arches above four-panelled doors, with a Doric doorcase at No. 35 on the left (north) and an alleyway to the right. The windows are eight/eight-pane sashes.
The interior has not been inspected. This terrace is an important part of the group of artisan and middle-class housing surrounding St Paul's Church.
