Description
No. 3 South Molton Road is a house dating from the early 19th century, possibly a remodelling of an earlier structure. It is constructed of whitewashed stuccoed stone rubble and has a slate roof that is gabled at both ends, with stone stacks at the ends. The house has a plan that is two rooms wide and double depth, featuring a central passage. The exterior is two storeys high with a three-bay symmetrical front. The central entrance has a panelled front door topped with a rectangular fanlight, and there are 12-pane timber sash windows from the 19th century. Inside, the right-hand front room has a large open fireplace with a replaced lintel, while the left-hand room has a smaller fireplace, also with a replaced lintel.
