Description
This section of wall, built in 1871, features a recess for a stand pipe. It was erected as a "Mark of respect and gratitude" for M.J.C. Phillips, who provided Bampton with an improved water supply. The wall is constructed from local stone and includes a round-headed recess adorned with rusticated blocks of masonry and a sandstone inscription panel. M.J.C. Phillips resided at Leburn House.
