Description
No. 4 Newport Street is a mid-terrace house built around 1830. It features red brick laid in Flemish bond with stone footings, topped by an asbestos slate roof and cast-iron rainwater goods. The house is double-depth and one room wide, standing two storeys tall with a basement or cellar.
On the exterior, there is a 20th-century door to the left, which has six fielded panels and a rectilinear overlight with glazing bars. To the right, there is a tripartite horned sash window. A cornice runs along the first-floor level, and there is a four-pane horned sash window at this level, which has a stepped voussoir above it. Additionally, a cast-iron pavement grille provides light to the basement. The interior has not been inspected.
