Description

There are three cast-iron lamp standards located in St Peter's churchyard in Tiverton. They are positioned approximately 15 meters south of the south porch, 17 meters southeast, and 21 meters northeast of the chancel, and each has a different design. These lamp standards likely date from the mid to late 19th century, although the lamps themselves may be of a later date.

The lamp standard southeast of the south porch features a square pedestal with open trellis work and a twisted shaft. The one southeast of the chancel has an octagonal base and a twisted shaft. The lamp standard northeast of the chancel has a round tapered pedestal and a reeded, lily-like shaft. This last standard includes a plate commemorating John Thomas and Samuel Tanton, dated 1977.
