Description
Park Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 19th century. It is constructed of cob with a stone plinth and is plastered. The main range has a slate roof, while the 19th-century wing features pantiled, gabled-end roofs. Originally designed as a three-room, through-passage plan house, the higher end is located to the left of the passage, with the inner room now converted into storage space. There is also a lower end rear wing added in the 19th century.
The building stands two storeys tall and has a front with a three-window range. On the first floor, there are two four-light and one three-light 19th-century casement windows. The ground floor features a four-light casement window on either side of a lattice-work porch topped with a gabled slate roof. The former inner room has a vehicular entrance below and a 19th-century casement window above. There are end stacks and an axial stack heating the higher end of the hall. The 19th-century wing includes two, three, and four-light windows on the first floor, and one four-light and one three-light window below, along with an open porch under a lean-to roof supported by shaped brackets.
Inside, there is a plank and muntin screen on the hall side of the passage, although some units are missing, and it features an arched door lintel. The bressumer and muntins are pegged and chamfered, with straight joints. The lower end has two deeply chamfered beams. The roof was largely replaced in the 19th century.
