Description

No. 9, Millway is a house dating from the early 1830s, forming part of a row and adjoining Nos. 7 and 11. The building is constructed of cob with a stone plinth, and is plastered under a slate roof. It has left-hand axial and rear stacks with brick shafts. The front elevation has a four-window range, with the three right-hand windows contributing to a symmetrical frontage and a central doorway. The doorway has an architrave and is sheltered by a decorated wooden canopy supported on shaped brackets. It contains a panelled door and reveals. Most windows are hornless 8-pane sashes, with one exception above the doorway, which is a later addition with a one-pane sash and margin panes. An entrance for a wagon is located on the left-hand side, with boarded double doors. A bracketed gutter runs along the roofline.
