Description
The stables adjoining to the north of Rudge Farmhouse were built in the mid 19th century. They are constructed of rubble with brick dressings and feature a slate roof. The stable block faces west into the farm courtyard and consists of ground floor stables with haylofts and some service accommodation above. The gable-ended block has a symmetrical three-window front, with doors and hayloft loading hatches positioned between the windows. All openings have brick segmental arches above them. The windows are shuttered and consist of two lights, with each surround having chamfers and straight cut stops on all sides. The doors are plain planks with overlights. The building has an eight-bay king post roof. It is included for its group value.
