Description
Fairways Cottage is a small cottage, probably built in the 18th century and modernised in the mid-20th century. It features plastered cob on volcanic footings and has a cob or rubble stack topped with plastered brick, with a thatched roof. The cottage has two rooms and faces south, with the stack located at the east (right) end and a thatched outshot extending beyond. It is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with two windows, which are modern casements from the 20th century. There is a central door with a 20th-century thatched hip-roofed porch supported by posts. The first-floor windows have eyebrow features above them. The roof is hipped on the left side and gabled on the right. At the rear, there is a 19th-century fixed pane window that contains 15 small rectangular panes. Inside, there is plain carpentry detail.
