Description
Downes Home Farmhouse is the home farmhouse of the Downes estate, built around 1850. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof. The farmhouse is a two-room structure facing southeast, designed with a central staircase plan, end stacks, and a rear service block. It stands two storeys tall and has a balanced but not symmetrical four-window front. On the ground floor, there are windows on each side of a four-panel door with an overlight featuring glazing bars, positioned to the right of center. The first floor has four windows, with the two in the center being narrower than the outer ones. All windows are 16-pane sashes set under segmental brick arches. The eaves are deep and supported by shaped brackets, and the roof is hipped on each side.
