Description

Lee Mount is a mid-19th century house located in Down St Mary Copplestone. It is a two-room plan cottage facing southwest. The walls are plastered cob on rubble footings, with stone rubble stacks and 19th-century brick chimney shafts, topped with a thatched roof with corrugated iron on the outshots. The house has end stacks and symmetrical three-window facade. The windows are late 19th-century casements with glazing bars, although some have been replaced with 20th-century casements lacking glazing bars. The central entrance features a four-panel door with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. The roof is hipped at each end and features tall chimney shafts. Symmetrical flanking outshots enhance the facade, with a 19th-century plank door to the front of the left outshot. The interior of the main rooms lacks exposed carpentry detail, and the roof has not been inspected. This building possesses group value and contributes to the character of the area.
