Description
Cove House is a country house built in the mid-19th century. It features a dressed freestone front range, with the rest of the building finished in stucco on rubble, and has dry slate roofs with brick axial stacks. The house has a large U-shaped plan that includes rear service wings at right angles to the front.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical five-window front. It features a central Tuscan porte cochere supported by paired columns and has a modillion eaves cornice. The windows are possibly original horned sashes with plate glass, and there is a plain fanlight above a six-panel door, flanked by single lights. The three-storey service wings retain most of their original hornless sashes with glazing bars.
The interior has not been fully inspected, but it is noted that there is a carved modillion cornice in the entrance hall, and it is likely that the house retains other original features of interest.
