Description

Retreat House is an L-shaped, two-storey house located on Monmouth Hill in Topsham, likely built around 1700. It features late Georgian stucco and has an eaves cornice, round window heads in lead with an oak-leaf design, and rusticated quoins. There is a Tuscan porch at the angle of the building and three-light sash windows. A bay window is present on the gable end of the second floor. Inside, the house includes some panelling and a 19th-century staircase. All the listed buildings on Monmouth Hill are part of a group.
