Description

Shell House is a late 17th-century building located on the east side of The Strand in Topsham. It features a plastered front and stands two storeys high with attics, comprising five sash windows that have thick glazing bars. The central doorway is arched and is topped by a six-panel door, which is adorned with a fine shell hood supported by carved brackets. The roof is covered with slate and includes two dormers. Inside, the house boasts a notable late 17th-century plaster ceiling, along with period panelling and a staircase. Shell House is part of a group of listed buildings along The Strand.
