Description
The ruins of the Hall of the College of the Vicars Choral and the Church of St George are located on the northeast side of South Street. The hall dates back to the 14th century and originally featured early 16th century panelling. It was severely damaged by fire on May 4, 1942. Currently, parts of two walls and two medieval windows can still be seen, constructed from Heavitree stone. The remains of the Church of St George, located on George Street, are also incorporated into the site, with parts of two walls still standing, which include Saxon masonry and a door-jamb.
