Description

14 Higher Shapter Street is a narrow two-storey building with a three-window red brick front, exhibiting a distinctly Dutch appearance. It was likely built around 1700. The building features sash windows with flush frames and glazing bars, although the short detached lengths of cornice over the first-floor windows have been removed. The window heads are made of rubbed brick, and there is a dormer with a semi-circular head. The door-hood is supported by brackets, and the front cornice is damaged. The entrance boasts a good six-panelled door. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on Higher Shapter Street.
