Description

The Dounthornes is an 18th-century building located on Mill Street. It is two storeys high with an attic and features a slate roof that has a moulded eaves cornice adorned with small dentils. The building is constructed of red brick with a stone plinth. On the first floor, there are three flush frame sash windows, each with flat arches and keystones. The central window has glazing bars, while the other two now only have centre glazing bars. The entrance is highlighted by an open pediment porch that includes a six-panel door, a radial-bar fanlight, and fluted Doric columns. All the listed buildings in Mill Street are part of a group.
