Description

Hawley Cottage is a cottage dating to around the 17th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and has a wood shingle roof with gabled ends and wide eaves. The cottage is two storeys high with a three-window range, and a single-window modern addition has been built at the south-west end. Windows are a mixture of modern and 19th-century casements with glazing bars, and there is a French door; rebuilt stone ridge chimneys are also present. A lean-to has been added to the north-east end. Inside, the cottage features stopped-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and a fireplace with a chamfered bressummer.
