Description
Hawley Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 16th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a pantile roof over thatch, with gabled ends and wide eaves. The building is two storeys high and has a long range of three windows. The 19th-century windows include two and three light casements, while the ground floor on the left side has a two light hollow chamfered stone mullion window with a hood mould and leaded casement. There are ridge and end stone rubble chimney stacks. A modern porch leads to an off-centre doorway that opens into a cross passage, which features an original Tudor arched wooden doorframe at the rear. At the back, there is an outshut with a reset window that has a hollow chamfered mullion and frame. Inside, the farmhouse has jointed cruck trusses, stopped chamfer ceiling beams, and a fireplace bressummer.
