Description
The gate posts and railings located approximately 4 meters south of Escot Front Lodge were likely built in 1869, around the same time as the lodge itself. The gate posts are made of granite and feature monolithic blocks that are square in section with chamfered edges and low pyramid caps. The railings are crafted from cast iron and are set into granite coping, following an S-course design. At each end of the railings are terminal posts, with a carriageway gate situated in the middle, flanked by additional gate posts. The original cast iron gate consists of four bays with crossbracing. Additionally, there is a small pedestrian gateway at the south end. This structure serves as the entrance to the landscaped grounds of Escot Park.
