Description

The ice house, located south west of Escot Park, dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of brick. It features a subterranean ovoid chamber with walls made of soldier-course brickwork and a shallow dome formed from header bond bricks. There is a short brick passage leading to the chamber, which has a cambered vaulted roof, although the doors are missing. Inside the chamber, there is an iron rail fixed to the wall. The earth covering over the structure has been partially worn away.
