Description
Hornshayes Farm House, including the adjoining farm building to the south, is a farmhouse and farm building that likely dates from the 16th or 17th century, with later alterations. The farmhouse is constructed from stone rubble and features a thatched roof with gabled ends. It is two storeys high and has a three-window range with modern casements that include glazing bars. To the left of the centre, there is a glazed and panelled door. The building has brick chimney stacks at both ends and along the ridge. At the rear, there is a wing with a slate roof and an external chimney stack at the gable end. Inside, the farmhouse has stopped chamfered ceiling beams and a chamfered bressumer above the central fireplace. The adjoining farm building, which is likely from the 18th or 19th century, is also made of stone rubble and has a lower corrugated iron roof. It is positioned at the back of the road and features a cartway with a weatherboarded loft above.
