Description
Salcombe Lodge is a detached villa built around 1810, featuring two storeys and a low pitch hipped slate roof. The façade is finished in stucco and includes five windows with a central entrance. The first floor has 2-light Gothic casements, each with a drip mould above. On the ground floor, there are four French windows with pointed heads and marginal glazing, showcasing elaborate "chinoiserie" diamond panes that are particularly ornate in the heads. The central entrance is highlighted by a Gothic columned porch with three-centred openings and a deep entablature, leading to a pointed arched door that is nail-studded. The house is set back from the road, surrounded by a garden that features fine chestnut and beech trees, contributing to its picturesque appearance.
