Description

The Lodge is a 19th-century lodge house, originally serving Barnhill. Constructed of red brick in a stretcher bond pattern, it has a gabled-end roof covered in tiles, with chimney stacks at each end. The building is two storeys high and symmetrical in design, with four windows across the front, each a two-light design, and two windows at the street-facing end. A central doorway is sheltered by a gabled porch with lattice work in its tympanum, supported by wooden columns on a lattice-work base. The Lodge is an attractive building that contrasts well with the neighbouring properties at Nos. 1-6 Chapel Road and Hillcott.
