Description
This is an early 18th-century house, likely built around 1740 according to deeds. It is a two-story building with a slate roof and an ogee bracketed eaves cornice. The front features three sash windows with exposed frames and glazing bars, and a central entrance door with six fielded panels, a fanlight, and a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. A shop front, dating from the early to mid-19th century, is located on the right-hand side, constructed with a wooden case and slender panelled pilasters.
Inside, you’ll find doors with two fielded panels, a staircase with a swept handrail, attic stairs with a Chinese Chippendale balustrade, and wooden fireplaces with polychrome Delft tiles featuring "Bianca sopra bianca" borders. The property forms part of a group of listed buildings, located in a very important central position on Silver Street.
