Description
This is a barn located immediately south-east of Brinscombe Farmhouse, dated 1838. It is a large structure made of stone rubble with ashlar dressings. The barn features a slate roof with stone coping along the gable ends, which includes shaped kneelers and small ball finials.
The barn is two storeys high and has a long range. On the ground floor, there are five segmental arched stable doors, with round windows flanking the end doors. The first floor has two small segmental arched loft openings on the left and right, and a large central doorway to the barn that has an elliptical arch, with the date 1838 inscribed on the keystone. The building is situated on a sloping site, with a similar barn door at ground level at the rear.
