Description

This is an 18th-century building on the south side of High Street, altered over time and originally comprising two separate architectural units. It is now divided into numbers 98 to 104. The building is three stories high, with a stucco painted exterior and slate roofs.

The left portion, including number 98 and part of number 100, features a moulded eaves cornice, rusticated quoins, and a slight central projection. A flush-frame sash window is present on the second floor to the left, while a stone bank window is at the first floor and a bank front occupies the ground floor. Modern two-story, three-light bow windows with glazing bars have been added to the right. A passage runs underneath the centre.

The right portion, incorporating part of number 100 and numbers 102 and 104, has an ogee bracket eaves cornice and three flush-frame sash windows on the second floor. The first floor features three three-light splay bays with sash windows; glazing bars are present except for the window in number 104. The ground floor has modern shop fronts. Number 100 includes a 19th-century door with six panels and a fanlight.

Numbers 92 to 116 form a cohesive group.
