Description

Stone Cottage is likely from the 18th century, with alterations and extensions dating to the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottage is constructed of plastered stone rubble, with some cob, and has a thatched roof. A stone rubble stack, topped with 20th-century brick, is situated between the east end room and the central room. The building appears to have expanded from east to west; the original section comprised a single room at the eastern end, followed by a central room added in the 19th century and a western room added around 1970. The two-storey exterior features a front with two windows, fitted with 20th-century casements with glazing bars. The front door, located slightly right of centre, is a 20th-century part-glazed door behind a contemporary porch. The main roof is half-hipped on the left and hipped on the right. The interior contains simple, exposed carpentry details.
