Description
The Riviera Hotel, built around 1820, was originally a terrace of three-storey houses known as Marine Place. An additional storey has since been added. The building is faced with stucco and features a bracketed cornice that runs across the front, along with a parapet that has coping. There is a sill course at the second floor and a plinth at the base. The hotel has four three-storey bows, each with tripartite sash windows, and panelled pilasters that extend down into aprons. The bow at the east end is larger than the others. Between each bow, there is one sash window set in a moulded flush frame. A large bowed glazed entrance porch has been added, which is supported by pilasters and features a cornice and parapet.
