Description

Harston is a three-storey stucco house dating from around 1820 to 1830, located on Church Street. The gable end faces the road and features scalloped bargeboards. The front includes two small casement windows and a Gothic casement window with a diamond pattern rail on the first floor, along with a porch supported by clustered shafts and topped with a gabled roof that also has bargeboard detailing. The garden front has three windows on each floor, with two-light marginal glazed casements on the second floor and French windows on the ground and first floors. There is a tent-roofed balcony with a verandah that has later wooden supports and balusters. The house is part of a group that includes the War Memorial Service Men's Club and Hope Cottage on Coburg Street.
