Description

Higher Budlake Cottage is a late 17th-century cottage, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of cob with a stone plinth, and has rendered walls under a gabled-end thatched roof. The cottage is two storeys high, with single-storeyed extensions to each end. It has a two window range facing the roadside. The windows on both floors were replaced in the 20th century, and the interior has been re-ordered. An external back lateral stack features a bake-oven bulge. The roof retains its original structure with crossed and morticed principals at the apex.
