Description

The Banning monument is an early 19th-century chest tomb located in the churchyard, 8 meters north of the nave of the Church of St. Andrew in Wootton Rivers. It is made of limestone and features a moulded table with a hipped centre section and a feathered fascia. The chest has chamfered corners and flutes, with side panels that are divided by an urn. The monument commemorates John Banning and his wife, who died in 1823 and 1817, respectively.
