Description

Cleeve Hill House is an early 18th-century detached house located on the east side of Midford Lane in Limpley Stoke. It is constructed of dressed limestone with a Welsh slate roof and has gable end stone stacks. The house has an L-plan shape with a later parallel range at the rear. It is two storeys high with a five-window front. The central entrance features a four-panelled door, sheltered by a flat stone hood supported by brackets. Flanking the door are two cross windows. A continuous moulded string course runs along the first floor, above which are five 2-light, beaded mullioned casements, along with a lintel string course and eaves band. The left return side has a half-glazed door and a three-light, beaded mullioned casement to the left; the first floor displays a pair of 12-pane sashes where mullioned windows once stood, alongside two single-light attic casements. The interior was inaccessible during a survey in May 1987.
