Description

The bridge over Midford Brook is a road bridge located in Lower Midford, likely built in the 17th century and remodeled in the 18th century, with the date "WH BFXH/1772" inscribed on it. It underwent repairs in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is made of ashlar and coursed squared rubble, with some brick repairs. It features a large central semi-circular arch flanked by two smaller arches; the western arch spans a former mill leat. All arches include keystones, and there is a central cutwater on the south side.
