Description

This is a late 17th- to early 18th-century cottage located in the village centre. It is constructed of sarsen stone with a thatched roof. Originally a single-storey and attic structure, it was raised to two storeys with timber framing. The cottage has two bays, featuring a narrow bay on the east end, once a village bakery oven, and an added bay to the west. The main entrance is at the rear. Windows are timber-framed, although the first floor has 18th-century iron casement windows. Inside, there are chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. The west bay has been opened out to create an extension, and a spiral stair and a central timber-framed partition are present.
