Description
Church Hill Cottage is a cottage, likely dating back to the 17th century or earlier, with later additions. It is constructed of colourwashed brick with a thatched roof. The cottage comprises two main builds; the north end is single-storey with an attic and two bays, extended to the rear (west) side. This section features fragmentary timber framing, including the foot of a probable cruck truss, and a rear wall built of sarsen stone. It has timber-paned windows and two flush dormers. The southern end also has two bays, and a 20th-century lean-to to the front which now contains the main entrance. A stack is located at the junction of the two builds and is central to the southern building. The cottage is a picturesque assemblage situated on the slope of the hill below the church.
