Description

The gate piers and wall to Hunt's House date from the 18th century. They are constructed from greensand ashlar with limestone dressings. The gate piers are approximately 75 centimeters tall and feature a cornice and a stepped top that supports flaming urns. The north pier has likely been rebuilt to widen access. Attached to the south pier is a garden wall that runs along the road, made of greensand rubble with brick copings. The wall is cogged and slopes to a brick top that is 22 centimeters high. The total length of the wall is approximately 27 meters, and it includes one step up over a blocked low arch, leading to the rebuilt section.
