Description
The Rose and Crown Inn is a 17th-century timber-framed inn that has been altered in the 20th century. It is rendered and features Bridgwater tile roofs, with a ridge stack and a 20th-century wall-face stack on the main range, as well as a coped north gable and a north end stack on the crosswing. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has an L-plan layout. The crosswing on the right has a half-hipped south gable, an attic with a pair of casement windows, and a triple casement window on each floor below. The main range includes 20th-century windows and a 20th-century red brick plinth, with three pairs of casement windows above, a casement pair, a triple casement, and a door in a lean-to porch below. Inside, the main range features heavy chamfered spine beams with stepped stops, and the crosswing has heavy chamfered beams as well.
