Description

The Old Forge is a 17th century house that features a timber frame, which was partly refronted in red brick during the 18th century. It has a Bridgwater-tile half-hipped roof and a rear-wall stack. The building stands two storeys high with an attic. The east front is made of brick and has two blank panels above a cambered-head triple casement window and a door below, all constructed in English bond brickwork. The south end facing the road is cement rendered and includes 20th century windows along with a date plaque reading CJWK 1845. Inside, the property boasts chamfered beams with ogee stops, a timber-lintel fireplace, and a four-bay roof.
