Description

This is an early 19th-century building comprising two houses with a shared shop front, located on Pewsey High Street. The building is constructed of brick with painted stone quoins and a prominent string course. The roof is slate, with asbestos at the rear. The right-hand three bays, representing number 46, feature a five-panel door at the centre, above a rectangular fanlight, and a canted bay to the right. The left-hand three bays – number 50 – contain a four-panel door, recessed and topped with a half-round, radial fanlight, as well as a similar canted bay on the left. The first floor has sixteen-paned sash windows throughout, each with a wedge lintel and raised key. The central bays (number 48) house a butcher's shop front, characterised by a wide canopy supported by cast-iron brackets and a central glazed door. A raised blue brick pavement is present. The roof is hipped. The rear elevation exhibits partial rendering and a number of 20th-century windows.
