Description
No. 44 High Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and three main bays, with an additional fourth bay on the left side. The central entrance consists of a six fielded panelled door that is sheltered by a bracketed canopy. There are canted shallow bay windows at either end of the façade. The first floor is adorned with twelve-paned and margin glazed sash windows. The eaves are decorated with brick dentils. The added bay is made of diaper brickwork and includes a six-panelled door flanked by rounded-topped windows that have gauged brick lintels. It also has a twelve-paned window on the first floor and a hipped roof. The right bay features a higher quarter-hipped roof and a wing extending to the rear.
