Description

This is an early 18th-century house and shop situated on the north side of High Street in Downton. The building is constructed of English bond brick with a tiled roof and a brick stack. It is two storeys high with a four-window front. The left-hand side features a 20th-century shop front. To the right of that is a four-panelled door sheltered by a canopy supported on cast-iron brackets, alongside two 16-pane sash windows belonging to No. 25. A dentil detail runs as a plat band above the ground floor. Four 12-pane sash windows occupy the first floor. The rear elevation has 20th-century casement windows to No. 25, with two-light wooden casements to No. 23. The interior has not been inspected.
