Description
The Wooden Spoon is a late 18th-century inn located on the north side of Downton High Street. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a tiled roof with a half-hip on the left side and brick stacks. The building has a two-span roof and is two stories high with three windows. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a classical porch supported by Tuscan columns. Flanking the door are two 12-pane sash windows with flat arches above. On the first floor, there are three 9-pane sash windows. The eaves are dentilled. To the right of the main entrance, there is a cart entry with double wooden doors. The left return of the building has a two-light leaded casement window on the first floor. At the rear, there are two-storey wings, with the right gable displaying exposed light timber-framing in the attic. The first floor features 20-pane sashes and a two-light leaded casement window. The interior has not been inspected.
